This topic is for the following purpose:

  • Posts are to only be related to the Maple Hollow Downhill trail
  • Intended use is to provide the Draper City Parks and Trails managers information about the current conditions and status of the trail
  • Is to list information such as signs down, trail features need repair, or an "all good"
  • Please post regularly after you've ridden this trail so it is current

Thanks for helping keep our friends at the Draper City Parks and Trails up to date on the status of this trail!  We're honored that they've let us build this, let's return the favor by keeping it in tip-top shape for all to enjoy.

Here's the conditions as of 5/1/2009:

  • The multi-use trail from the Elk Glen trailhead down to the dirt road crossing is in excellent condition.
  • The double track section has many loose rocks that have rolled into the trail.  Caution is advised but is rideable.
  • The single track section extending from the doubletrack to the entrance filter also has seen some erosion but is currently dry.  Caution is advised due to loose conditions.
  • The entrance filter (ramp) is in good shape, no maintenance is needed.
  • The section from the entrance filter to the step-down is in good shape.  One corner had collected water from runoff but is now dry.
  • The stepdown and step-up are in good shape.  Signs are in place.
  • The section between step-up and the jump with wooden 'catcher' is in good shape.  The catcher is fine.  Signs are in place.
  • The section between the 'catcher' jump and the entrance to the 'gully' has 2 areas where spring water is crossing the trail.  Diversions are in place and working properly.
  • The gully corner was armored but is now dry.  The roller immediately after the corner still has water, diversions in place and trail is dry.
  • The section between the gully and the exit onto the old sewer line trail is good.  There are 2 or 3 water crossings, all working properly, and stunts in this area have signs in place EXCEPT the left-hand gap (which never had one).
  • The remainder of the trail is in good shape with no water.

Here's the conditions as of 5/13/2009:

  • The multi-use trail from Elk Glen trailhead down to the dirt road crossing is in excellent condition
  • The doubletrack section down to the entrance filter is good, most of the loose rocks have been brushed off.  Caution is still advised
  • The entrance filter is in good condition, no repairs needed
  • The water has stopped flowing for the most part and trail is dry.
  • The recent work days linked the new lower section to the bottom (multi-use) trail.  This section is rideable.
  • There have been some repairs and additional features added.  Caution is advised when riding these for the first time.

Still working on when signs will be in place for the official opening.  Ride in control and inspect stunts prior to use.  Ride at your own risk!
